Introduction to Mt. Eden Vaulting Club (Trot Team) 2011 (ESTIMATE)

The essence of vaulting is the Team aspects. The focus of the Trot Team on the team element of competition rather than individual. The trot team is open to all vaulters who are willing to join the team and who can or soon will be able to mount the horse by themselves. If more than seven vaulters join, vaulters will take turns at the alternate position or we will have more than one team. All vaulting families sign contracts with Garrod Farms. Emma Seely will supervise the coaching of the Trot Team although the coach will be another qualified Mt. Eden coach.

The dates and times of the practices will be determined by the members of the team after they sign up. Mt. Eden vaulting club will do everything possible to accomodate working parents and weekend schedules.

Team practices will be 1 to 2 hours long. Trot vaulters may use the Drop-in class on Saturdays as a make-up session.

In the winter the vaulters will work mostly on improving their compulsories and begin/continue work on their individual free style routines on the barrel. They will start work on a Team Freestyle (all six vaulters participate with up to three at once on the horse) if the team is dedicated and big enough. The goal is to debut the Team Freestyle on the horse at the Garrod's Benefit in May.

All travel, housing, meals, and individual classes at competitions are the responsibility of the competitors.
Mt. Eden Funds are used to replace/renew equipment, pay horse transport/stabling costs, and assist coaches and longeurs with expenses.
Mt. Eden families are expected to work at the Mt Eden Benefit and Vaulting Competitions held at Garrod's as those are our main fund-raisers. We may also hold more fund raisers during the year.

The Mt. Eden Vaulting Club meets usually every couple of months. Teams may hold monthly meetings. All members are welcome.
There may be a Mt. Eden Holiday Party in December and an end-of-season party in August or Septmeber.
The Region II (the AVA Region we are in) Board meets 2-3 times a year. All are welcome.
The American Vaulting Association Board of Directors meets 3 times a year. The AVA Annual Meeting is held in the beginning of March. It is fun. All members are welcome.
